Willie Nelson’s Star-Studded 90th Birthday Concerts Getting Theatrical Release

An otherworldly array of all-stars joined Willie Nelson at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles late last month for a two-night celebration of his 90th birthday. The concert film Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 featuring highlights from both shows will premiere at theaters across the country on Sunday, June 11 with encore screenings to follow on June 13 and 14.

Neil Young & Stephen Stills, Billy Strings, Margo Price, Keith Richards, Bob Weir, Sturgill Simpson, Dave Matthews and Warren Haynes were among the guests at the shows held on April 29 and 30. Others who appeared at Willie Nelson 90 included Lukas Nelson, Allison Russell, Emmylou Harris, Tyler Childers, Snoop Dogg, Particle Kid, Woody Harrelson, The Avett Brothers, Jennifer Garner, Kris Kristofferson, Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr., Jack Johnson and many more.

Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 runs over two hours and mixes full performances with special guest presentations. The concert film features a state-of-the-art cinematic presentation visually and pristine 5.1 stereo surround sound. “Demand to attend this historic concert event was unprecedented,” wrote Nelson’s manager Mark Rothbaum and Keith Wortman, CEO of concert organizers Blackbird Presents. “Willie wanted to make sure his 90th birthday party included and was accessible to all of his fans.
