The Black Crowes Celebrate 30th Anniversary Of ‘Three Snakes & One Charm’ With Massive Breakouts In Oklahoma

The Black Crowes commemorated the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album Three Snakes and One Charm at their concert on Thursday near Tulsa. The group reeled off the first five tracks from the LP in the order they appear on the record, including two songs they hadn’t played since 2013, to open the show at Hard Rock Live in Catoosa, Oklahoma.

Three Snakes and One Charm, The Crowes’ fourth studio album, arrived on July 23, 1996. Produced by Jack Joseph Puig, the 12-track follow-up to Amorica was primarily recorded at a house in Atlanta the band dubbed “Chateau de la Crowe.”

The string of Three Snakes and One Charm songs trotted out in Oklahoma began the same way the album does with “Under A Mountain” and “Good Friday.” Both songs made rare appearances in a 2026 setlist as did the ensuing “Nebakanezer.”

The next two songs were even more surprising, having disappeared from the repertoire for 13 years. “One Mirror Too Many” hadn’t been played since April 23, 2013, while the “Blackberry” that followed was the band’s first performance of the tune since August 14, 2013. The fourth and fifth tracks off Three Snakes and One Charm brought the celebratory portion of the concert to an end.

The Black Crowes continued by mixing such hits as “Jealous Again,” “She Talks To Angels” and “Remedy” with their 2026 single “Pharmacy Chronicles” and covers of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle” and Pink Floyd’s “Fearless.” Another cover ended the night, as the band devoted the encore to their recently debuted version of The Rolling Stones classic “Bitch.”

Thursday’s concert was one of the few Southern Hospitality Tour dates played without Whiskey Myers, who rejoin The Black Crowes on Saturday in Texas.
