Neil Young and Stephen Stills performed at the first of two Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 all-star concerts held at the Hollywood Bowl. On Saturday, April 29, which was his 90th birthday, Nelson joined Young and Stills for a performance of “Are There Any More Real Cowboys?”
Young and Stills, who recently shared the stage at the latter’s Autism Speaks benefit, kicked off their Willie 90 appearance with the title track to Young and Stills’ 1976 collaborative album, Long May You Run. The former Buffalo Springfield bandmates then delivered the classic “For What It’s Worth.”

Nelson then emerged for “Are There Any More Real Cowboys?,” which appeared on Young’s 1985 album Old Ways. Nelson contributed to the studio recording and appeared in the video that accompanied the song. Shortly after the video was filmed, Nelson, Young and John Mellencamp founded Farm Aid and held the first benefit concert in September 1985.
