Watch Widespread Panic Perform ‘Fishwater’ At 25th Anniversary Run In 2011
Widespread Panic released official video featuring “Fishwater” from their February 11, 2011 concert at the Classic Center in Athens. The 18-minute “Fishwater” came as the penultimate song of the evening’s second set.
“Fishwater” is the latest pro-shot video Panic shared from their 25th Anniversary Run. The sextet kicked off the run in their hometown at the Classic Center on February 10 and 11, 2011 before heading to Atlanta to close out the celebratory excursion at the Fox a few days later.
Widespread Panic debuted “Fishwater” live on March 8, 1990 at the El Dorado Café in Crested Butte, Colorado. The band went a few months before their second performance of “Fishwater” in July of 1990 and have yet to go more than 15 shows between versions since as per Everyday Companion.
The “Fishwater” in Athens featured a duet from drummer Todd Nance and percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz. Bassist Dave Schools then dug into a solo that paved the way for a fierce guitar solo from Jimmy Herring towards the end of the song.
