Watch Widespread Panic Perform ‘Chilly Water’ At 25th Anniversary Run In 2011
Widespread Panic‘s latest pro-shot video shared on YouTube features “Chilly Water” from a 2011 run celebrating the band’s 25th anniversary. “Chilly Water” was played by Panic early in the first set at the Classic Center in the group’s hometown of Athens on February 10, 2011.
The run began with two nights in Athens on February 10 and 11, 2011 and ended with a show at Atlanta’s Fox Theater on February 14, 2011. Widespread Panic continues to unveil official video from the Athens concerts on YouTube.
Panic’s +11-minute “Chilly Water” came after the sextet kicked off the show and run with their first cover of “For What It’s Worth” since 1988 and “Sleepy Monkey,” an original from the group’s early days. “Chilly Water” also was among WSP’s earliest originals. The band included a studio version on their debut album, Space Wrangler, in 1988.
“Chilly Water” is one of the most frequently played songs in Widespread Panic’s live repertoire. The band has yet to go more than 13 shows without performing the tune since their formation as per Everyday Companion.
