Widespread Panic continues to release footage from their 25th anniversary celebration concerts. The latest is “Imitation Leather Shoes” from February 11, 2011 at The Classic Center in the band’s hometown of Athens, Georgia.
The February 11, 2011 performance marked the second of two shows for Panic at The Classic Center. The band — guitarists John Bell and Jimmy Herring, bassist Dave Schools, percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz, drummer Todd Nance and keyboardist JoJo Hermann — then capped off the celebratory run with one more concert at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Valentine’s Day.

February 11 got underway with The Guess Who’s “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature.” The show also contained notable bust outs of the Moody Blues’ “Nights In White Satin,” the first time the band had played the song since October of 1987 and the last performance of the tune so far, as well as the Grateful Dead’s “New Speedway Boogie,” first time played since January 1987. “Imitation Leather Shoes” — a staple since the band debuted the Don’t Tell The Band track in Spring 2000 — came as the second song in the second set.
