Widespread Panic shared pro-shot video of “Postcard” from the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. The clip is the latest in WSP’s rollout of video from their 25th anniversary run in 2011.

“Postcard” came during the second night of the run on February 11. The 25th anniversary celebration got underway on February 10 and wrapped up 10 years ago today with a final concert at Atlanta’s Fox Theater.

Like a number of the songs in the 25th anniversary setlists, “Postcard” is one of WSP’s oldest tunes, debuted on October 6, 1986 — the same year the band was formed — in Athens, as per Everyday Companion. The song is a co-write with friend of the band Thomas “Bear” Guenther, who sent guitarist John Bell a postcard in Summer 1986 from Telluride, Colorado, which inspired the song. Sadly, Guenther passed away in 2019 and Widespread Panic paid tribute to their friend that year in Telluride.

The 25th anniversary “Postcard” came during the five-song double encore — “Postcard” is an encore favorite for the band — after Neil Young’s “Don’t Be Denied” and ahead of “Driving Song.” Watch Widespread Panic perform “Postcard” on their 25th anniversary run below:
