Dawes Showcase Latest Album & Wildfire Relief Single On ‘CBS Saturday Morning’

Dawes returned to CBS Mornings this past weekend for a Saturday Sessions set and interview with Anthony Mason. The Los Angeles-based rockers played a reimagined ode to their hometown and a pair of songs from their 2024 album, Oh Brother.

After losing nearly everything to January's devastating wildfires, siblings and Dawes co-founders Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith recently resumed their touring life. The brothers opened up to Mason about the “whipsaw of emotions” they felt going from releasing to Oh Brother to losing their homes to opening the Grammys.

Circles Around The Sun keyboardist Adam MacDougall has been on the road with Dawes to round out the Goldsmiths’ touring lineup with bassist Z Lynch, percussionist Ian Bush and guitarist Trevor Menear. The six-piece iteration played Oh Brother cuts “Front Row Seat” and “Still Strangers Sometimes” on Saturday Sessions.

Dawes also performed “Time Spent In Los Angeles (For Altadena),” the updated version of the song from their 2011 sophomore album, Nothing Is Wrong, they re-recorded for a charity single. Proceeds from the track are going toward Los Angeles wildfire recovery via MusiCares.
