Dawes brothers Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith were among the thousands affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Taylor’s home studio was destroyed and his house damaged, while Griffin, who is expecting a child soon, lost his entire home in the tragedy.
The siblings found strength in song by serving as the musical guests on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Dawes delivered an emotional performance of “Time Spent In Los Angeles” from their 2011 studio album Nothing Is Wrong.

Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith played the stirring ballad while images of first responders battling the flames and locals who lost everything were displayed behind them. The special appearance came in support of MusiCares which launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief effort to help the music community.
“In an incredibly dark time, Jimmy Kimmel Live has asked us to come sing a song about the city we love tonight,” Dawes wrote on Instagram. “It’s not a joyous occasion for music, but hopefully a cathartic one amidst all this chaos.”
