The Barr Brothers Share Previously Unreleased Tracks ‘Red Moth Solar Companion’ & ’Saint Cecilia’
The Barr Brothers unveiled previously unreleased tracks “Red Moth Solar Companion” and “Saint Cecilia.” Both songs were recorded during the same sessions that yielded the group’s most recent studio album, 2017’s Queens Of The Breakers. “Red Moth Solar Companion” is accompanied by a video directed and edited by TBB guitarist Brad Barr.
Brad Barr co-wrote and recorded the pair of tracks with Andrew Barr and Sarah Page. Sarah has since left the band. “‘Red Moth Solar Companion’ is a live, instrumental, off-the-floor improvisation that musically describes a patient journey through the heart of a star,” explained Brad. “‘Saint Cecilia’ has hints of Blonde On Blonde, it’s the pantomime of an experienced but misguided wayfarer who is fixated on the promise of redemption through Saint Cecilia, the patroness of musicians,” added the guitarist.

To all of our Friends and Fans, however near or far,
First, we’d like to tip our hats to you all and acknowledge the incredible job you’ve done of adapting your lives in the wake of this outbreak and for sacrificing so much to benefit the health of others and prevent more suffering. The losses have been unutterably tragic. But the insight we’ve gained into ourselves and each other will be so valuable in the future. We look forward to NOT taking anything for granted again!
In gratitude and solidarity, we are sending out two previously unreleased Barr Brothers songs–“Red Moth Solar Companion” and “Saint Cecilia” via Secret City Records. Both were recorded during the Queens of the Breakers sessions, and both had other plans. We’ve been waiting for the right time to turn them loose, and this feels like it.
