Frontman Thom Yorke’s “extreme throat infection” forced Radiohead to postpone two shows in Copenhagen, Denmark, on the band’s ongoing European Tour. The postponement was announced today, hours before Radiohead was set to begin a four-night run at Royal Arena.
Radiohead’s concerts originally scheduled for tonight (Monday, December 1) and tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2) were rescheduled to December 15 and December 16, respectively. Radiohead’s concerts at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena on Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5, are currently scheduled to go on as planned.
Tickets to the rescheduled concerts at Royal Arena will be automatically transferred. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Radiohead embarked on their first tour since 2018 last month. After the Copenhagen run, the tour concludes at Berlin’s Uber Arena with concerts on December 8, 9, 11 and 12.
Read a statement from Radiohead regarding the postponement of their two Copenhagen shows:
“We are devastated to have to postpone these two shows at such short notice but Thom has been diagnosed with an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing.
“Treatment is underway and we’re hopeful Thom will recover in time to play the final two Copenhagen shows on Dec 4th and 5th, and all four Berlin shows, starting on Dec 8th.
“We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again; needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows.”
