Tedeschi Trucks Band began a run of co-headline shows with Gov’t Mule on Wednesday in Toronto. Mule’s Warren Haynes joined the TTB and his fellow Allman Brothers Band guitarist Derek Trucks to help close out their set.
Tedeschi Trucks Band kicked off their set with staples “Anyhow” and “Do I Look Worried.” Next came “Who Am I,” a new song TTB unveiled back in May followed by the oldie “Learn How to Love” off the band’s 2011 Grammy-winning debut album, Revelator.

A pair of covers followed beginning with Derek and The-Dominos’ “Keep On Growing,” followed by TTB’s bluesy rendition of the Prince classic “1999,” led by vocalist Mike Mattison. The stylings of saxophonist Kebbi Williams and drummer Isaac Eady then ushered the band into “Let Me Get By,” which saw a Jimi Hendrix “Manic Depression” tease.
Next, a cover of Bonnie Raitt‘s 1991 release “I Can’t Make You Love Me” ahead of another new tune, “Devil Be Gone,” and older number “Part Of Me.”
Following a rousing “Made Up Mind,” Warren emerged for the final two songs of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s set. The sit-in got underway with a song from the aforementioned Allman Brothers Band, “Stand Back.” The cut off ABB’s 1972 album Eat A Peach saw keyboardist Gabe Dixon, guitarist Susan Tedeschi and Haynes swapping lines ahead of a quick but fiery solo from Trucks and a bass breakdown courtesy of Brandon Boone.
The jam got underway with the band bringing things way down as Haynes and Trucks showed off decades of chemistry by quietly swapping licks and masterfully building to a frenetic peak. Warren stuck around for a show-stopping rendition of “With A Little Help From My Friends” Joe Cocker style. Check out clips from the concert below:
