After several weeks off, Tedeschi Trucks Band resumed their Live In 25 Tour on Tuesday night with a performance at the Tulsa Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The second of two sets saw guest guitarist Seth Lee Jones come on for a Prince cover, while the “Let’s Go Get Stoned” encore unfolded with the help of The Greyhounds.
Bandleaders Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks welcomed Seth Lee Jones to add a third guitar to their bluesy arrangement of Prince’s party anthem “1999.” The guest musician operates a Tulsa-based custom guitar building and repair service.
Watch the triple-guitar approach to “1999,” sung by TTB vocalist Mike Mattison, below:
Tedeschi Trucks Band’s encore on Tuesday began with the recently introduced original “Future Soul.” The group then brought out The Greyhounds – the Texas-native duo of keyboardist Anthony Farrell and guitarist Andrew Trube – for the frequently covered “Let’s Go Get Stoned.”
See how the show-closing collab went down:
Derek Trucks played a 1967 Fender Jaguar for part of last night’s show. The guitar was purportedly procured earlier this week from Guitar House of Tulsa. See the instrument in action during the first set Done Somebody Wrong”:
