Queens Of The Stone Age Return With New Single ‘Easy Street’ Featuring Nikki Lane

Queens of the Stone Age shared a new single, “Easy Street,” featuring vocals from Nikki Lane. The song out on Matador marks the rockers first new music in three years following their 2023 album, In Times New Roman.

QOTSA debuted “Easy Street” live on their landmark Catacombs Tour last year. For the studio version containing “acoustic guitar, psychedelic synths, and a rhythm track that breathes on its own,” as per press materials, the band brought aboard singer-songwriter Nikki Lane to add her voice to frontman Josh Homme's.

“Easy Street” sees Homme and company leaning into the track’s contradictions and imperfections.

“It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny,” Homme said of new song “We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake. It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”
