Watch Queens Of The Stone Age Break Decade-Long ‘Austin City Limits’ Drought

Queens of the Stone Age will make a rare television appearance on the next episode of Austin City Limits. Exclusive footage of “Kalopsia” and “Someone’s In The Wolf” was shared ahead of the episode’s premiere on Saturday, January 31 at 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET.

The band threw down a monumental hour on the long-running PBS live music program accompanied by a nine-piece orchestra. Queens Of The Stone Age — Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore — focused on material from Alive In The Catacombs, a live album and concert film captured in Paris’ famed underground ossuary.

QOTSA looked to 2013’s …Like Clockwork for “Kalopsia.” Homme sang the song while holding a work light, as haunting strings fluttered beneath the vocals. A spellbinding “Someone’s In The Wolf” came later during the second half of the performance. Those songs appear alongside classics from the band’s 30-year career.
