Queens of the Stone Age brought the European leg of their Catacombs Tour to a close on Wednesday with a performance at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall. The American rockers wrapped the concert with “Long Slow Goodbye” featuring Matt Berry on the RAH organ.
The encore performance saw QOTSA frontman Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman singing the song with the aid of actor/musician Matt Berry on organ. Many may know Matt from his role as Laszlo Cravensworth in the hilarious vampire-comedy What We Do in the Shadows. Laszlo is often seen playing old-timey keyed instruments on the show.
The historic Royal Albert Hall organ fits in the old-timey category, built in 1871 by Henry “Father” Willis. It was the largest pipe organ in the world at the time. Willis described the organ as “The Voice Of Jupiter.”
Berry — who also has an outstanding musical catalog from his 2011 debut album Witchhazel to his most recent, 2025’s Heard Noises — manned Royal Albert Hall’s organ perched above the stage as Homme and Shuman sang “Long Slow Goodbye.”
“Mr. Matt Berry on fucking organ,” Josh exclaimed following the performance. Watch below:
