One of California's finest exports, The Sycamore Slough String Band is coming to Albany NY for one night only & Acoustically Speaking will be opening up the show! Sycamore Slough String Band https://www.facebook.com/SycamoreSlough These musicians share an affinity for the music of the Grateful Dead, and came together in an Oakland recording studio in January 2012 to see what they could conjure. David Gans – guitar and vocals Tours nationally as a “solo electric” performer and also does a lot of Grateful Dead-related stuff on the radio, online, and in books. David Thom - mandolin, guitar and vocals Worked for 2 years as guitarist and lead singer with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, has lead the David Thom Band since 1996, and plays in Grandpa Banana’s Band. Roger Sideman - upright bass Has performed with everyone from David Nelson (New Riders) to Melvin Seals, The Everyone Orchestra, Michael Kang (String Cheese Incident), Stu Allen & Mars Hotel, and bluegrass legend Frank Wakefield. Kat and Mik formed this special acoustic duo after realizing what a special magical thing happened when they sang and played together.
