Antique Firearms In the corner of a seedy bar in the Netherlands, brothers Parker Dotson (lead guitar) and Bradan Dotson (vocals & guitar) cemented their plans to form Antique Firearms. No debate was necessary, Asheville, NC would be their base of operations. Shortly after arriving in Asheville, they were joined by brother Galen Dotson (keys) and long-time friend Chandler Brewer (bass). Drummer Dave Breske has since completed the mix and the family. Antique Firearms’ sound is an eclectic melding of rock, folk, and electronica - belying their varied interests and an evolving experimentation. Their music is punctuated by Bradan's immediately recognizable vocals and Parker's fluid guitar riffs; on top of a solid rhythm section complimented by synth/keys. The dynamic nature of the band’s sound has lead them to be compared to the likes of ‘My Morning Jacket’ and a southern-fried version of ‘Radiohead’. That along with their "nattily dressed, and impeccably rehearsed" blistering live performance has been creating quite a buzz in the southeast. In just their first year they have been a featured artist on Reverbnation; headlined the famous “Orange Peel”, played the Bele Chere Music festival sharing the stage with Goodnight, Texas and The Mountain Goats, were asked to co-headline the first Raleigh Oak City 7 concert series, and warmed the stage for Colonel Bruce Hampton at the Asheville Music Hall. In November 2012, the band released their second full-length independent album, Vicious Behavior and have no plans of slowing down anytime soon. Steadily writing and polishing new tunes for their th!rd album to be released mid 2014. Vicious Behavior 2012 Album Notes (CD BABY)* The gateway into Antique Firearms' moody, shadowy world of thrumming percussion and shimmery guitars is Bradan Dotson's raspy vocal. It's divisive. You'll love it or hate it; it's unlikely you'll be on the fence. One the opening track to the band's new album, Vicious Behavior, Antique Firearms (with Galen Dotson, Parker Dotson, Chandler Brewe
