Wife and husband Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy meld their virtuosities into a whirlwind of fiddle-driven music, dance, and song, combining the best of French, Celtic and American Bluegrass and Cajun styles to make it their own. Joined by two highly acclaimed pianists, Mac Morin and Erin Leahy, you’ll be treated to the foot-tapping folksongs, heart-wrenching ballads, and world-class step dancing that have brought audiences to their feet on three continents. For the first time since 2007, Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy will take to the Pasant Theatre Stage on Thursday, November 7th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale online at whartoncenter.com, at the Auto Owner’s Insurance Box Office, or by calling 1-800-WHARTON. Touring with her husband Donnell Leahy and their five children, Natalie MacMaster is a JUNO award winner who began her career at the age of nine. She released her first album, Four on the Floor, at the age of 16 and has not looked back since. In her latest album, Cape Breton Girl, Natalie returns to her roots with a traditionally based album that embodies the true Cape Breton sound. Born on Cape Breton, a Nova Scotia island off Canada’s east coast, Natalie has turned the music of Cape Breton into an international phenomenon. Equally at home on the concert stage or at a folk festival, Grammy-nominated Natalie MacMaster is one of the most versatile and exciting young musicians on both the Folk music and Celtic music scenes. MacMaster's many projects have seen her collaborate and perform with Alison Krauss, Carlos Santana, the Chieftains, Paul Simon, Pavarotti, and Yo-Yo Ma. Natalie’s husband, Donnell Leahy, is the oldest boy in a family of 11. Donnell and seven of his brothers and sisters form a group of their own called the Leahy family, which has won three JUNO awards and released five albums.
