Hungarian composer Peter Eötvös describes Korrespondenz as follows: "Th[e] string quartet reproduces the dramatic relations between Leopold Mozart, living in Salzburg, and his son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, living in 1778 in Paris, through excerpts from their correspondence. The instruments of the string quartet are sounded as if they were ‘conducting conversations.’" Side by side, Eötvös and Bartók create a context for each other. Bartók Quartets 1 and 5 and Peter Eötvös’s Korrespondenz. This series is made possible in part by the Grace Jarcho Ross and Daniel G. Ross Concert Fund. Tickets to this event include Museum admission. Under 30 $1 tickets for kids (ages 7–16) are available for this concert. Children must be accompanied by an adult purchasing a full-price ticket (maximum three children's tickets per paying adult).
