The Wood Brothers ‘Pray God Listens’ On New Single

The Wood Brothers shared “Pray God Listens,” the second single off their forthcoming studio album, Puff Of Smoke. The trio will release their ninth full-length studio effort on August 1 through Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers.

Sibling bandmates, bassist Chris Wood and guitarist/songwriter Oliver Wood, along with third member, multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, recorded the follow-up to 2023’s Heart Is The Hero at their The Studio Nashville facility. The trio previously shared the 11-track album’s lead single, “Witness.”

“‘Pray God Listens’ is a bit humorous and cynical, but ultimately it’s a song of compassion and humility,” Oliver Wood explained. “It’s meant to be light, but it’s ambiguous enough that you can draw your own conclusion. You can take the cynicism part and the humor, or you can go a little deeper and find the compassion.”
