JamBase Data launched Circuits, a new series that turns decades of concert records into stories about the artists, venues and scenes that shape live music.
The first installment, “The Road To MSG,” traces the paths artists take to their first headlining show at Madison Square Garden.
JamBase has tracked concerts since 1999, and the database behind JamBase Data now holds more than 5 million performances from more than 616,000 artists and more than 91,000 venues. Circuits puts that archive to work, using verified lineup, venue capacity and billing records to show how careers navigate through the live music world.
“The Road To MSG” asks how an artist gets to The Garden and answers with the numbers. According to JamBase Data, 142 distinct artists have headlined MSG for the first time since 2021 or are booked to do so by June 2027.
The piece sorts their journeys into six archetypes: Road Warriors, Pandemic Build, Helicopters, Support Graduates, Pop Escalators and Veterans Return.
The piece also looks ahead. The MSG Readiness Board ranks acts on signals such as the biggest New York City room played in the last 24 months, room growth, touring volume and whether a Garden support slot is already banked. Those weights are one theory of how you get there, so fans can adjust the formula and watch the rankings move.
“The Road To MSG” dives deep into JamBase Data with the interactive charts, full archetype breakdowns and the predictive Readiness Board.
“Every artist who headlines Madison Square Garden started in a much smaller room, and JamBase has been keeping track of all those rooms since 1999,” said Andy Gadiel, Co-Founder & CEO, JamBase. “Circuits is how we put that historical data to work to tell a story, looking for the patterns behind the shows, venues and timings. ‘The Road To MSG’ is where we start, and the same data behind it is available to anyone today through JamBase Data.”
The Data Behind Circuits
JamBase Data covers more than 25 years of concerts and festivals, including more than 20,000 festivals, and delivers it through a REST API, bulk feeds, custom integrations and an MCP connection for AI agents.
The data is sourced through direct partnerships and feeds with ticketing companies, venues, promoters and festivals, not scraped. Every event is de-duplicated and matched to unique artists and a venue, then mapped to third-party IDs for integration with customers’ existing databases.
Streaming services, ticketing platforms, travel companies and analytics teams use JamBase Data to power event discovery, spot rising artists and shifting regional demand, forecast event-driven travel demand and connect listening to live shows. JamBase Data is trusted by more than 450 companies, including Google and Spotify.
