The Strokes Debut ‘Reality Awaits’ Standout Live At Just Like Heaven

The Strokes headlined the one-day Just Like Heaven festival at Brookside at the Rose Bowl near Los Angeles on Saturday. The rockers from New York City offered the live debut of a standout track on their 2026 album, Reality Awaits.

The festival set got underway with another Reality Awaits cut, “Lonely In The Future.” The Strokes also slotted in the record’s “Going Shopping” and “Dine N’ Dash.” Additionally, the band included older favorites such as “Reptilia,” “Someday” and “The Adults Are Talking.”

Following the latter, The Strokes emerged for a two-song encore. The bonus frame got underway with the live debut of the fifth track on Reality Awaits, “Going To Babble On.” The sleek rocker boasts smooth vocals from frontman Julian Casablancas and is a bit of a throwback to earlier Strokes LPs.

Julian Casablancas also had a little fun with fellow headliners LCD Soundsystem and their frontman James Murphy. While addressing the audience, Casablancas wondered why the band “retired” in 2011 and called Murphy the “Brett Favre of indie rock.” Julian added, “we should do a song next time.” Watch:
