Hamilton Leithauser Joins The Strokes For The Walkmen Cut In Boston

The Strokes came to Boston’s TD Garden on Tuesday. The rockers welcomed opener Hamilton Leithauser toward the end of the show for a song from his band The Walkmen.

The Strokes first album in six years, the Rick Rubin-produced Reality Awaits, arrives July 24. The band included two tracks off the record in Boston, the advance singles “Falling Out Of Love” and “Going Shopping.”

The Strokes also offered older favorites such as “The Adults Are Talking,” “Reptilia,” “Selfless,” “Last Nite,” “Someday” and “Call It Fate, Call It Karma.” Additionally, the recently resurrected deep cuts “Gratisfaction” and “Happy Ending” remained on the setlist in Boston.

Following the aforementioned “Call It Fate, Call It Karma,” during the five song encore, The Strokes brought up fellow 2000s vanguard rocker and tourmate Hamilton Leithauser. The artists teamed to deliver a cover of The Walkmen’s “Heaven,” with Leithauser stepping into Julian Casablancas‘ spot to front The Strokes on the title track to The Walkmen’s 2012 album.
