The Strokes Get ‘Gratisfaction’ & ‘Happy Ending’ At Blossom Music Center

While The Strokes are currently touring in support of a forthcoming new album Reality Awaits, the band is using the opportunity to dive into their back catalog. The recent Reality Waits Tour stop at Ohio’s Blossom Music Center saw the return of two songs that hadn’t been played live in the ’20s.

The Strokes hit the Cleveland area shed on Friday for the fourth date of their 2026 tour. Reality Awaits, which is now set for release on July 24, was represented in the 22-song setlist by “Going Shopping” and “Falling Out Of Love.”

The first shakeup is the setlist came in the seven-slot, when The Strokes presented the tour debut performance of First Impressions Of Earth track “Heart In A Cage.” A much bigger surprise came late in the set with the return of “Gratisfaction.” The upbeat standout from 2011’s Angles hadn’t been played since that year.

The Strokes weren’t done keeping fans on their toes yet. After finishing a main set that also included such classics as “Hard To Explain,” “Someday” and “Last Night,” the band fit a “Happy Ending” into the encore. The criminally underrated track off 2013’s Comedown Machine was last played live on May 20, 2019, which was just the fifth-ever performance of the song.

The Reality Awaits Tour pulls into Boston tonight for a show at TD Garden. More North American dates follow through a hometown show on October 2, with a two-show visit to Japan set for August.
