After debuting a cover and two originals on opening night of a 10-show Beacon Theatre residency, Tedeschi Trucks Band continued to expand their already massive live repertoire on night two. The Wednesday night concert saw the group unveil two more originals along with takes on songs by Sturgill Simpson and Sly & The Family Stone.

While Tuesday’s show was an “Evening With” performance featuring two sets, the band led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks delivered one long set on Wednesday after Steve Earle and Vincent Neil Emerson kicked off the festivities. The TTB opened with live staple “Don’t Let Me Slide” before performing “Who Am I” from their forthcoming studio album, Future Soul.

Future Soul was also represented in the setlist by its title track and first-time performances of “Shout Out” and “Be Kind.” The former came towards the end of the lone set, while the latter was paired with “Show Me” to form the evening’s encore.

Tedeschi Trucks Band fit a major surprise into the middle of the show when they premiered a cover of Sturgill Simpson’s “All Around You.” Susan Tedeschi handled lead vocals on the poignant song from the 2016 Sturgill album A Sailor’s Guide To Earth.

Later in the night, the TTB linked the Sly & The Family Stone hits “You Can Make It If You Try” and “Everyday People.” Both cover debuts originally appeared on the legendary soul-funk band’s 1969 album Stand! The pairing joins a frequently played medley of Stand! cuts “Sing A Simple Song” and “I Want To Take You Higher” in the Tedeschi Trucks Band repertoire.

The Wednesday night concert also featured such beloved favorites as “I Want More,” “Do I Look Worried” and “Let Me Get By.” Spot-on covers of Prince’s “1999,” Derek & The Dominos’ “Keep On Growing” and the aforementioned show-closing take on Joe Tex’s “Show Me” also made the setlist.

Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2026 Beacon Theatre residency resumes on Friday. Watch the cover debuts and more from night two captured by videographer Sean Roche:
