‘Not A Weak Spot’: Tedeschi Trucks Band Announces Highly-Anticipated New Album ‘Future Soul’

UPDATE: Tedeschi Trucks Band also confirmed their Future Soul 2026 Tour featuring over 30 new dates.

Tedeschi Trucks Band officially announced their sixth studio album, Future Soul, which is set for release via Fantasy Records on March 20. The 12-piece ensemble led by guitarists Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks unveiled “I Got You,” the first taste of the forthcoming record.

The Mike Elizondo-produced follow-up to 2022’s ambitious four-part I Am The Moon project features 11 tracks. Several of the songs, including “I Got You” and the LP’s title track, were debuted live by TTB last year. Derek Trucks serves as co-producer.

“I feel like this is the most unique record we’ve done,” explained Trucks of Future Soul. “It’s my favorite collection of songs that we’ve ever put on a record. From song to song, there’s just not a weak spot.”

The cover art for Future Soul portrays Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks as superheroes. Artist/illustrator Marc Sasso created the image. Sasso’s credits include work featured in comic books and cover art for Motley Crue, Dio and Judas Priest, among others.

“I Got You,” written by guitarist/vocalist Mike Mattison, is a mid-tempo love song that features powerful vocals from Susan Tedeschi. Derek Trucks unleashes a furious solo to bring the track to a close.

“‘I Got You’ is a breath of fresh air and pretty different for us,” added Trucks. “It feels like the band, but it doesn’t feel like anything we’ve done before.”
