Marcus King Unplugging For ‘Intimate Acoustic Evening’ Tour With Drew Smithers

Marcus King and The Marcus King Band guitarist Drew Smithers will embark on an acoustic duo tour later this year. The run includes 13 dates in December and four additional shows in January.

The idea for the tour was hatched on August 8, 2024, when Marcus King performed unplugged with Smithers at the cozy Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. “After thinking more about the wonderful shows at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe and the up close and personal fan experience, we decided why keep it to one night only?” King explained on social media. “I’m thrilled to announce that myself and my good pal and wicked guitarist, Drew Smithers, will be taking this show on the road on an intimate run of acoustic dates this winter!”

Marcus King’s slate of “An Acoustic Evening Featuring Drew Smithers” concerts starts in Helotes, Texas on December 4. From there, the pair hits Lubbock (Texas) on December 5, Albuquerque (New Mexico) on December 6 and Flagstaff (Arizona) on December 7. It’s then off to California for shows in Napa on December 9, Solana Beach on December 10, Los Angeles on December 12 and Los Angeles on December 13.

King and Smithers return to Arizona to play Tucson on December 14. Next, the duo brings the tour to Jackson (Mississippi) on December 17, Shreveport (Louisiana) on December 19, and Little Rock (Arkansas) on December 20 before a performance at subterranean venue The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee on December 21.

The pair then heads to Colorado early next year for concerts in Telluride on January 23, Beaver Creek on January 24 and Steamboat Springs on January 25. A gig in Jackson, Wyoming on January 27 brings the tour to a close.
