Marcus King began a two-night stand at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday. The guitarist welcomed opener JJ Wilde for a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” toward the end of his set.
King is currently touring around his new Rick Rubin-produced album, Mood Swings, which arrived on April 5. The guitarist and singer-songwriter naturally leaned heavily on his new record in Portland, performing eight of the album’s 11 songs including the title track, “Delilah,” “Fuck My Life Up Again,” and “Hero.”

Marcus also included favorites from his two previous Dan Auerbach-produced albums. 2020’s El Dorado was well represented with opener “Beautiful Stranger,” “The Well,” “Wildflowers and Wine” and more. King also offered “It’s Too Late” and “Lie Lie Lie” from 2022’s Young Blood.
After “Lie Lie Lie” and Mood Swings’ “Bipolar Love,” King welcomed JJ Wilde. The singer-songwriter will join him on several upcoming dates on the tour in support of her new EP Best Of Me (Part 1), which arrived today. Marcus and Wilde dueted on The Stones standout “Wild Horses,” accompanied solely by King’s acoustic guitar.

King capped the concert with a cover of the Allman Brothers Band song “Southbound,” penned by the late Dickey Betts. The guitarist returns to Crystal Ballroom tonight. Scroll down for Marcus King’s full tour routing with ticket info.
