Little Feat brought their Can’t Be Satisifed Summer Tour to St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday night for a concert featuring support from Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel. The legendary rock band was joined by Duane Betts on a cover of The Allman Brothers Band‘s “Blue Sky” during their headlining set at the Fitzgerald Theater.
“Blue Sky” was written by Duane’s father ABB co-founding guitarist Dickey Betts. Duane Betts has performed what was one of his dad’s signature songs with several acts in the wake of Dickey Betts' death in April at age 80 including Gov't Mule and the Maple Leaf Allstars.

Little Feat fit their debut take on “Blue Sky,” which The Allman Brothers Band originally released on their iconic Eat A Peach album in 1972, into the middle of their 18-song performance in St. Paul. Duane Betts handled lead vocals and took a furious solo. Little Feat guitarist Scott Sharrard unleashed a memorable solo of his own and swapped harmony riffs with Duane.
Scott Sharrard was familiar with “Blue Sky” as Gregg Allman’s touring guitarist from 2008 through Gregg’s death in 2017. Sharrard also sat-in multiple times with The Allman Brothers Band.
Duane Betts & Palmetto Hotel are in the middle of a five-show run opening for Little Feat. The excursion continues tonight at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines, Iowa.
