Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit Cover John Prine With Gillian Welch & David Rawlings At Red Rocks

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit returned to Red Rocks on Saturday for a concert supported by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. Frontman Jason Isbell brought the openers back out during the encore for a joint performance of John Prine’s “Paradise.”
Isbell sang the first verse of the biographical song from Prine’s 1971 self-titled album. Rawlings sang the second verse and Welch took up the third. The trio collectively delivered the fourth and final verse. The 400 Unit guitarist, Sadler Vaden, played a mandolin for the acoustic arrangement.
