The Grateful Dead work through the galloping “Lazy River Road” on June 26, 1993 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. in the latest installment of the band’s All The Years Live video series. Guitarist Jerry Garcia shines on the song he wrote with Robert Hunter and the lineup of Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Vince Welnick, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann are joined by special guest Bruce Hornsby on accordian.
“From RFK Stadium, where the Dead always seemed to play well, this ‘Lazy River Road’ is a classic of the late-era Garcia-Hunter output,” wrote Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux. “Despite leaving the band more than a year ago, Bruce sat in on accordion for these shows in DC.”
