The Grateful Dead’s latest installment of their All The Years Live video series features the Phil Lesh-sung “Box Of Rain.” The video was recorded on July 7, 1989 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. A 2010 release, Crimson White & Indigo contains audio and video of the complete concert.

“‘Box Of Rain’s’ return to the live repertoire in 1986 after a 13 year absence was one of the most welcome re-births of a Dead song,” wrote Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux. “Since its March 20, 1986 return in Hampton, Virginia, ‘Box Of Rain’ was a song that could appear anywhere in the show, sometimes opening the second set (as it does here), sometimes an encore, occasionally ending a first set, random middle of the first set placement, and even an occasional show-opener. Box Of Rain would be the last song the Grateful Dead ever played.”

Previous All The Years Live releases include “China Cat Sunflower” and “I Know You Rider” from July 6, 1990, “Morning Dew” from October 18, 1974, “Sugar Magnolia,” “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire On The Mountain” from December 31, 1978, “Reuben & Cherise” from June 6, 1991, “Estimated Prophet” from July 8, 1990 and “Wang Dang Doodle” from June 14, 1991.
