This week’s installment of the Grateful Dead’s All The Years Live video series features a performance of “Wang Dang Doodle.” Recorded at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. on June 14, 1991, the clip is a new transfer from the 2001 concert film View From The Vault, Volume Two.
“The short-lived lineup of the Grateful Dead that featured both Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick produced some of the Dead’s most inspired and exciting playing of their final 15 years of touring, particularly the shows in 1991,” GD archivist David Lemieux said. “This RFK show also featured magnificent renditions of ‘Help On The Way’ / ‘Slipknot!’ / ‘Franklin’s Tower’ and ‘Dark Star’.” Watch Bob Weir lead the Grateful Dead through Willie Dixon’s “Wang Dang Doodle” below:
All The Years Live is a recently launched video series that will contain a mix of new transfers of previously released clips as well as previously unreleased footage. The first installment was “Morning Dew” from October 18, 1974 and the second featured “Sugar Magnolia,” “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire On The Mountain” from December 31, 1978.
