Gorillaz Release New Single ‘Hallelujah Money’

After a nearly six year wait, a new song by virtual rock band Gorillaz has been released today. Masterminds Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have shared the brand new single “Hallelujah Money.”

The new track features a contribution from British poet and musician Benjamin Clementine who also is prominently featured in the video for the song. “Hallelujah Money” is expected to be included on a forthcoming Gorillaz album that’s been long in the making.

Gorillaz last issued The Fall LP in 2011 and before that Plastic Beach in 2010. Recently Gorillaz shared a series of multimedia stories that detailed events in each of the fictitious band members’ lives including The Book Of Noodle, The Book Of Russel, The Book Of Murdoc and The Book Of 2D.

The video for “Hallelujah Money” was directed Giorgio Testi and Gorillaz and edited by Sebastian Monk. It was premiered today by Uproxx, view it below:
