Gorillaz Share ‘The Book Of Russel’ & Team With Jaguar Racing

The buildup to a new Gorillaz album continues as the animated band has today revealed another multimedia story. The multi-part audio and visual tale The Book Of Russel is now the second such release from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s virtual project.

Drummer Russel Hobbs is the cartoon hero of the story laid out over social media. The story details his leaving Plastic Beach and growing 60 times his size while rescuing his band mate and subject of The Book Of Noodle, guitarist Noodle. He meet up with Gorillaz’s Murdoc but the three are separated after a pirate attack, with Russel landing in North Korea.

Jaguar Racing also named Noodle as the company’s new global ambassador. The announcement stated, “As Jaguar Racing spearheads the development of next generation electric vehicle technology, Noodle will help to inspire the next generation of young engineers be a part of the biggest change the car industry has ever seen.” Watch the video featuring Noodle here:
