As fans anxiously await a new Gorillaz album, the animated group featuring Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have shared a new multimedia story. The multi-part audio and visual tale entitled The Book Of Noodle was posted to the band’s official Twitter account.

The titular Gorillaz guitarist Noodle is the animated heroine in the newly issued story. It begins with a tweeted message stating “She [Noodle] drifted away from Plastic Beach to safety, or so she thought. Years later Noodle is face to face with pure evil … Will she prevail? Read on. But be quick …” referencing the last proper Gorillaz album, 2010’s Plastic Beach. Later Noodle travels to Japan and disguises herself as a geisha while attempting to slay a shape-shifting devil.

Check out what happens in the action-packed short-story below:

Helett and Albarn earlier this year teased footage from the studio and last year it was said a new Gorillaz album would be out sometime in 2016. The band has recently been rapidly sharing updates across various social media channels.
