Bobby Weir Recruits Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile, Rick Mitarotonda & More For Dead Ahead 2025 Destination Event In Mexico

Bobby Weir's Dead Ahead concert vacation returns to Moon Palace in Riviera Maya, Mexico January 9 – 13, 2025. The Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist is joined on the lineup by Dead Ahead alums Sturgill Simpson, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, Don Was, Jay Lane, Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda and more.

The second annual Dead Ahead will consist of five nights of music, including three nights of collaboration as Dead Ahead with Weir, Simpson, Mitarotonda, Chimenti, Burbridge, Was and Lane featuring Brittney Spencer, Grace Bowers and special guest Brandi Carlile. The musician will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead in various configurations.

Additional performances by Sturgill Simpson, Oteil & Friends, Trampled by Turtles, Joy Oladokun and Neal Francis round out the 2025 Dead Ahead lineup. Oteil & Friends will devote one of their two sets to celebrating the music of Jerry Garcia Band, while Trampled by Turtles will perform a tribute to Old & The In The Way.
