Maggie Rose returned to CBS Saturday Morning on August 29 for her second appearance on the program’s “Saturday Sessions.” Rose showcased her recently released album Half Moon with performances of “Red Shoes,” “Weekend Lover” and “Gentle Man.”

Half Moon arrived on August 14 via One Riot Records. The follow-up to Rose’s Grammy-nominated 2024 album No One Gets Out Alive was co-produced by Lawrence Rothman and Daniel Tashian. Rose began working on the record while eight months pregnant with her first child and recorded it at Nashville’s RCA Studio A six months after the birth of her son, Graham.

The three songs featured on CBS Saturday Morning represent different sides of Half Moon. “Red Shoes” and “Weekend Lover” are among the album’s more upbeat offerings, while “Gentle Man” is a reflective ballad. Watch Rose perform all three songs below:

Rose previously appeared on “Saturday Sessions” on December 28, 2024, shortly after No One Gets Out Alive earned a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. She subsequently picked up her second career nomination for “Poison In My Well,” her collaboration with Grace Potter.

Rose returns to the road this fall with festival appearances and headlining dates on the books as she tours in support of Half Moon. Check out her upcoming tour dates below.
