Legendary guitarist and vocalist Bonnie Raitt makes her first Austin City Limits headlining appearance in a decade on a Season 49 episode premiering tomorrow, Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on PBS (check local listings). The ACL Hall of Famer mixed beloved favorites with standout cuts from her Grammy-winning 2023 album Just Like That…, including the touching “Livin’ For The Ones” tributes to loved ones recently lost, over the course of the hour-long installment.

Bonnie Raitt made her Austin City Limits debut back in 1984 during the show’s ninth season. She returned in 2002 for Season 28 and then again in 2012 before her 2016 induction into the ACL Hall of Fame. Raitt is backed on this weekend’s episode her incredible band featuring guitarist Duke Levine, drummer Ricky Fataar, keyboardist Glenn Patscha and bassist Hutch Hutchinson. Guitarist emeritus and songwriting partner George Marinelli also joined the group for portions of the hour.

“Welcome to my fourth decade on Austin City Limits!” Bonnie Raitt exclaimed shortly after hitting the Moody Theater stage. Bonnie and her band reel off 10 songs on the new episode. Just Like That… is represented by the “Made Up Mind” opener, the aforementioned “Livin’ For The Ones,” “Blame It On Me” and the title track. Raitt also delivered classics “No Business,” “Love Sneakin’ Up On You,” “Nick Of Time” and “Have A Heart.” Sunny War made a guest appearance on Jackson Browne’s “World In Motion,” while “Love Sneakin’ Up On You” came in medley with the Rufus & Chaka Khan funk anthem “You Got The Love.” The set was punctuated by a sizzling rendition of B.B. King’s “Never Make Your Move Too Soon” in tribute to what Raitt called “one of the greatest blues towns in America — Austin, Texas.”

“Livin’ For The Ones” was co-written by Bonnie Raitt and George Marinelli. Fittingly, Marinelli emerged for the song and the rest of the set. George took a stellar solo on the rocking cut penned in honor of friends and family who passed away over the past couple of years after Raitt ripped it up on slide.
