Widespread Panic Confirms 1st Shows Since Jimmy Herring Cancer Diagnosis

The shows mark the band’s first in Atlantic City in 25 years.

Widespread Panic announced details of their first shows in Atlantic City, New Jersey since 2000. The band will perform three concerts at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena February 14 – 16, 2025.

In July, Widespread Panic revealed guitarist Jimmy Herring had been diagnosed with stage 1 tonsil cancer. The initial announcement came with word a July run in Asheville was canceled. The band eventually wound up canceling all summer and fall dates while Herring underwent treatment. As for now, the Atlantic City shows will mark Widespread Panic’s first concerts since June.

Widespread Panic made their Atlantic City debut at the Mark G. Etess Arena back on July 28, 2000. The sextet haven’t returned to AC since but will end that 25-year streak in February.

No word on Herring’s current prognosis was mentioned in the Atlantic City announcement. Tickets for Widespread Panic’s 2025 Atlantic City run go on sale this Friday, November 1 at 10 a.m. ET.
