Widespread Panic Takes Warren Zevon’s Poignant ‘Keep Me In Your Heart’ Into The Studio

In 2023 during their annual visit to Red Rocks, Widespread Panic paid tribute to Bill Bass by dedicating a performance of Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart” to the late Colorado concert promoter. WSP took Zevon’s heartfelt song into the studio and recorded a version for their upcoming album, Hailbound Queen.

Due out on November 8, Hailbound Queen is the second Widespread Panic studio album coming out in 2024 following the release of Snake Oil King in June. The band’s last studio full-length effort was 2015’s Street Dogs.

Hailbound Queen, the band’s 14th studio album, also includes a previously shared cover of Bloodkin's “Trashy,” alongside originals “Halloween Face,” “King Baby” and “Blue Carousel.”

Widespread Panic has been off the road since June and canceled all remaining 2024 dates while guitarist Jimmy Herring undergoes treatment for cancer.
