The Linda Lindas Light Up ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ With ‘Burning Out’

The Linda Lindas returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday for an appearance as the musical guest. The Los Angeles quartet performed “Burning Out,” a track featured on Gotta Get Out, a new studio album set for release on August 28 via Reprise/Warner Records.

Gotta Get Out found The Linda Lindas taking a collaborative approach. The 12 songs mark the first time the four members of the band wrote together in the same room.

The Linda Lindas released “Burning Out” in June as the first taste of the follow-up to 2024’s No Obligation. “‘Burning Out’ felt so simultaneously new and nostalgic for us, and I think that was super fitting for me especially, because I had just graduated high school and I was feeling very surrounded by change,” said The Linda Lindas’ Lucia de la Garza.

“We went on a week-long writing retreat in Palm Springs less than a month after graduation, and that’s where we wrote this song about feeling like the world is passing you by. Knowing that my friends would all be going to college in the fall, it made sense my head was in a very nostalgic place.”

The Linda Lindas will support Gotta Get Out with their most extensive headline tour to date this fall. The foursome will hit over 25 North American cities between September 16 and November 5.

Rosie O’Donnell guest hosted the episode, which marked her first time behind the desk of a talk show since 2002. Jimmy Kimmel is currently on his summer break.
