Viral Video Star Clint Alama Performs With Matisyahu In Los Angeles

Our story starts late last month, when reggae star Matisyahu stumbled into a Maui coffee shop and came upon a local ukulele player Clint Alama, aka Kekoa Alama. Kekoa was performing Matis’s “One Day” as the song’s original artist looked on. Alama didn’t realize the man bopping his head and singing harmony to “One Day” was indeed Matisyahu until the reggae star introduced himself. Fast forward to Friday night, when Matis flew Kekoa out to Los Angeles for a performance of “One Day” at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
The sit-in almost didn’t happen as Alama had a warrant out for his arrest. A deal was made with the prosecutor that allowed Kekoa to fly to Los Angeles for a few days. He now has to go back to jail in Hawaii. Matis and his band referenced the situation by playing a bit of “No More Trouble” by Bob Marley as part of Kekoa’s introduction. Then, Matisyahu and Alama teamed for an emotional performance of “One Day.” Watch how it went down:
