Tori Amos Honors Glen Hansard With ‘Falling Slowly’ Debut In Boston
The singer-songwriter’s performance of The Swell Season song came two days after Hansard’s death in Dublin.

Tori Amos brought her In Times of Dragons Tour to Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston on Friday, two days after the death of Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard. Amos honored Hansard with a performance of “Falling Slowly.”
“Falling Slowly” was recorded by The Swell Season, the duo of Hansard and Markéta Irglová, for the 2007 feature film Once. The pair co-starred in the movie and they won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Falling Slowly.”
Hansard tragically died on Wednesday, July 29, at age 56, following a motorcycle crash in Dublin. A public wake for Hansard was held today in Dublin. His funeral will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4 at Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
