Lainey Wilson brought John Mayer onstage to perform “Phone, Keys, Wallet” at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s All for the Hall Los Angeles benefit on Thursday. The appearance at The Novo marked the first live performance of the collaborators’ June single together.

Wilson previously performed “Phone, Keys, Wallet” with her band, but Mayer had not joined her on the song before Thursday. The studio recording, released June 4, features Mayer on guitar.

Wilson played acoustic guitar and handled lead vocals during the live debut, while Mayer supplied electric guitar and backing vocals. Watch audience-shot video of the performance below:

Hosted by Wilson, All for the Hall Los Angeles followed the Nashville “guitar pull” format, with artists taking turns performing and sitting in with one another. Jelly Roll joined Wilson for “Save Me,” while Jelly Roll and Lukas Nelson collaborated on “Heart Like A Truck” and “4 X 4 By You.” Nelson also sat in with Wilson on “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”

Proceeds from the benefit support the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s educational programs, including its Words & Music initiative.
