The Avett Brothers Cover Chris Cornell In New Hampshire

By Andy Kahn Jun 2, 2017 10:34 am PDT

The Avett Brothers performed a concert last night at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook in Gilford, New Hampshire. The show’s main set opened and closed with songs written by late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.

Seth Avett and Scott Avett collaborated on a number of occasions with their “dear friend” Cornell, who last month died at the age of 52. Following his unexpected death, The Avett Brothers recently opened their show in Orlando with cover of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” which they did again last night in Gilford. The band ended their career-spanning main set Thursday night with a cover of Cornell’s original “Scar On The Sky,” which appeared on the vocalist’s 2007 solo LP Carry On.
