Tedeschi Trucks Band‘s seven-show Beacon Theatre residency continued on Tuesday night at the historic New York City venue. Guitarists Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks led their group bust out covers of The Rolling Stones’ “You Got The Silver” and the Boz Scaggs-popularized “Loan Me A Dime” during last night’s concert.

The 12-piece ensemble’s fourth of seven 2021 shows at The Beacon began with a take on The Beatles’ “I’ve Got A Feeling.” Susan Tedeschi then belted out a pairing of TTB original “Don’t Know What It Means” and Box Tops cover “The Letter.” Next, trumpeter Ephraim Owens provided the gorgeous intro to Revelator standout “Until You Remember.” Last night’s “Until You Remember” was the band’s first since February 2020 as per Setlist.FM and featured a powerful organ solo from Gabe Dixon.

Vocalist Mike Mattison had his first turn of the night in the spotlight for “Down Don’t Bother Me,” a song he wrote with Derek for inclusion on The Derek Trucks Band’s Grammy-winning Already Free album. From there, Tedeschi and Trucks engaged in a fierce call-and-response segment within Delaney & Bonnie’s “Comin’ Home.” Then, Trucks unleashed a fiery solo during the ballad “Still Your Mind” and saxophonist Kebbi Williams brought the house down with a powerful solo of his own in “Part Of Me.”

Next up was the band’s first covers of The Rolling Stones’ “You Got The Silver” since November 15, 2014 and Fenton Robinson’s “Loan Me A Dime” since September 26, 2014 as per Setlist.FM. Derek and Susan did perform “You Got The Silver” as a duo earlier this year during their third “Fireside Sessions” livestream concert. Susan handled lead vocals on the song from The Stones’ Let It Bleed LP, while Mike Mattison sang “Loan Me A Dime,” which Boz Scaggs famously recorded with Duane Allman for his self-titled 1969 studio album.

More rarities followed as the TTB dusted off “Joyful Noise” from the Derek Trucks Band catalog and John Coltrane’s “Afro Blue” after each was on the shelf for nearly two years. “Afro Blue” gave way to an adventurous and lengthy “Shame.” The group then ended the set with Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “That Did It” and their own “Made Up Mind.” Last night’s show came to a close with a take on Derek & The Dominos’ “Anyday” as the encore. Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to The Beacon Theatre tonight. Jorma Kaukonen opens.
