Tedeschi Trucks Band had just started the third song of the final set of their Sun, Sand & Soul Weekend on Saturday when a storm swept through Florida’s panhandle and forced them offstage. The 12-piece ensemble made lemonade out of the bad weather lemons by livestreaming a special “Shelter In Place” set on Instagram from backstage at the Seascape Resort as they waited for updates.
While lightning would prevent the TTB from returning to the stage, the livestream session featured the debut performance of a new song entitled “Moon.” The band led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks also treated fans to “Playing With My Emotions” off 2022’s I Am The Moon, old favorite “Midnight Harlem” and a cover of Dr. John’s “I Walk On Guilded Splinters” from backstage at Sun, Sand & Soul.

Tedeschi Trucks Band previously unveiled the new original “Crazy Cryin'” on opening night of their three-day event. The second annual Sun, Sand & Soul marked the start of the group’s Live In 25 North American Tour. An announcement of the tour mentioned that new music is in the works.
“TTB is currently in the studio collaborating with renowned producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Twenty One Pilots, Turnstile, and Encanto soundtrack),” read a statement from the group. “The band will be cycling in and out of the studio in between tour stops and hopes to release new music early next year.” I Am The Moon, a quadruple album, currently stands as the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s latest studio release.
On Friday, Bonnie Raitt headlined the second night of Sun, Sand & Soul. Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and TTB keyboardist Gabe Dixon performed alongside Raitt and her band one night after Bonnie sat-in with the 12-piece on a medley of “Leavin’ Trunk” and “Volunteered Slavery.”
