Tedeschi Trucks Band brought their Deuces Wild Tour to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, New York on Sunday. TTB welcomed opener Margo Price and members of her band The Pricetags for a show-stopping Sly & The Family Stone medley.
The guest-filled Sly nod came as the final two songs of the encore following a cover of Leon Russell’s “A Song For You.” Then, Margo and members of her band The Pricetags filled the stage. Price with tambourine in hand took a spot next to TTB vocalist Alecia Chakour for “Sing a Simple Song.”

In true Sly & The Family Stone fashion the vocalists shared duties led largely by Susan Tedeschi. The Stand (1969) cut also saw a powerful solo from TTB keyboardist Gabe Dixon on B3 organ before the band headed into Stand‘s “I Want To Take You Higher.”
“Higher” featured a harmonica solo from Margo’s husband Jeremy Ivey and a double bass attack from TTB’s Brandon Boone and The Pricetags’ Alec Newnam. Guitarist Derek Trucks also traded licks with Margo’s bandmate Jamie Davis.

Additional covers included Derek and the Dominos’ “Anyday” (which saw “Franklin’s Tower” and “Blue Sky” teases from Derek), Grateful Dead’s “Sugaree,” John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery,” and Paul Pena’s “Gonna Move.” The set wrapped with TTB classic, “Bound for Glory.”
